About Trove

Trove is a new discovery experience focused on Australia and Australians. It supplements what search engines provide with reliable information from Australia's memory institutions.

If you are researching in the fields of the social sciences, literature, local or family history, or need inspiration for your school assignment, then this is the tool for you.

Trove was designed to:
• provide a single point of access to the resources of the deep web
• facilitate access to a significantly greater range of resources from major sources, including selected digitised material freely available online
• support searching of, and access to, full-text content
• enhance ease of discovery by providing improved relevance ranking, refinement by facets, FRBR-like grouping of related items (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records) and exploitation of thesauri
• engage with communities and individuals through annotation services
• ensure that relevant information is not missed in a search by reducing the need to search material-specific discovery services separately
• provide a platform for niche services to query a vast resource of Australian metadata and adapt if for their own needs.

Keep up to date with the “New items” at Miller College Library.

Set up an RSS feed to our New Items list, currently available from TAFEcat, and will be updated at the beginning of every month.

What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) offers an easy way to be alerted when new content appears on a particular website without having to go to the site itself. RSS-enabled sites have files called "RSS feeds" that describe the latest updates to the site. Each item in the RSS feed contains a title, some descriptive content, and a URL that links back to the original content or website for more information.

RSS feeds can be read using software called an "RSS reader", "feed reader", or "aggregator", which can be web based, desktop based or mobile based. The RSS reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new content, downloads any updates that it finds, and provides a user interface to monitor and read the feeds. A variety of free and commercial RSS readers are available. Internet browsers, such as IE7 and Firefox have integrated feed readers and Outlook 2007 can also be used.
