Creative …visual excitement


Two new databases are now available for students and staff to use. They offer a wealth of visually exciting information. Access is by DET user name and password if via the TAFE library catalogue e resources tag OR the standard SWSI library database generic login

TV News… indexes Australian television news, current affairs and selected documentaries from the free-to-air networks with links to the digitised video content in a compressed format.

All individual stories from a particular broadcast are indexed with a detailed synopsis. TVNews is updated daily


Grove Art Online … provides the ability to access and search the vast content of Grove Art Online and Oxford art reference in one location. Users can choose to view biographies, subject entries, or images when searching or browsing.

This functionality allows users greater access to the more than 23,000 subject entries, 21,000 biographies, 500,000 bibliographic citations, 40,000 image links and 5,000 images contained within Grove Art On

New eLearning equipment


The Library now has the Senteo interactive response system, Visualisers and Wireless Slates and Laptops available for staff to borrow – the wireless slates and visualisers work with or without the Smartboard.
Utilise the skills and knowledge of the Institute e-learning Mentors for e-learning/innovative delivery as well as your Teaching & Learning Managers. Contact the library for further details. Quick reference guides and manuals are also available for use with the equipment.
