World Plumbing Day

World Plumbing Day is an annual event that recognises the vital role plumbing plays in modern health and sanitation.

The first ever World Plumbing  Day was held in March 2010, but did you know that the history of plumbing goes back at least 5000 years? Plumbing artefacts such as drainage pipes have been discovered in the ruins of many ancient cities, most notably those in the Indus Valley Civilisation.

Miller TAFE Library celebrated World Plumbing Day on 10th March this year, with a free morning tea for all staff and students. Over 200 people attended the morning tea, which included healthy options for the diet-conscious as well as sugary treats and chocolaty goodness.

Library Lovers' Day is an annual event held in February by libraries all over the world. Inspired by Valentine's Day, this day helps libraries showcase their services to new and returning visitors.

This year, Miller TAFE Library celebrated Library Lovers' Day on 11th February with a morning tea. The morning tea was attended by over 200 staff members and students, including many who had never visited the Library before. Due to highly positive feedback and encouragement from attendees, the Library will be hosting another morning tea on 10th March to celebrate World Plumbing Day.
